The world's oldest Christian Bible, the Codex Sinaiticus (Fourth Century CE) has gone online. The Greek text was first written about 1600 years ago, probably in Egypt. Today different parts of the original manuscript are found in the British Library in London, in the University of Leipzig in Germany, in Saint Catherine’s Monastery in Egypt and in the National Library of Russia in Saint Petersburg. Until 06 July 2009, no person alive has seen all the pages gathered together. After a four-year long transcription of the text to digital images, it is now possible to appreciate the original beauty of the codex.
